The Hollywood Sign has become an important, globally recognized monument, but few people realize that it relies exclusively on individual contributions and business sponsorships for its maintenance and security.
All donations to the Hollywood Sign are managed by the Hollywood Sign Trust, the government-appointed organization responsible for the Sign’s preservation, protection and promotion for nearly a quarter century.

For example, the Trust has just completed a major refurbishment and re-coating of the Sign. It also led the installation – and ongoing development – of the state-of-the-art security/surveillance system that helps keep the Sign and surrounding area protected from vandals, fires, and other threats.
