The Hollywood Sign Trust is a California 501(c)3 non-profit
organization. The purpose of the Trust is to physically maintain,
repair and secure the Hollywood Sign; to educate the world
about its historical and cultural importance; and to raise
the funds necessary to accomplish these projects.
The Trust is comprised of nine men and women whom the State
of California has made responsible for pursuing the Trust’s
mission. Four of these Trustees are designated by the City
of Los Angeles – two with three-year terms and two with
indefinite terms. The remaining five members are appointed
by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to three-year terms.
All donations to the Hollywood Sign are managed by the Hollywood
Sign Trust on behalf of the people of California. These donations
are completely tax-deductible. To make a contribution, click

Since its charter in 1992 the Hollywood Sign Trust has led
a range of projects to preserve, protect and promote the Sign,
including two major refurbishments, one in late 2005, and
the installation of a state-of-the-art security and surveillance
system, which has been expanded and improved numerous times.
The Trust also operates the official Hollywood Sign web site
(www.hollywoodsign.org) and sponsors various local events
and projects with an eye toward promoting Hollywood as the
center of the global entertainment industry. To this end,
the Trust has been a sponsor of the AFIFest, a leading annual
international film festival held in Hollywood, since 1996.
By protecting and preserving this towering treasure that
is the Sign, the Trust helps strengthen its symbolic role
as the beacon of the entertainment industry. |
